The CFL Initiative provides the technical assistance to companies to identify grants and resources to help pay for training. This includes researching available funding programs and providing technical assistance submitting grant applications. These programs are free to participating businesses.
Types of grants include but are not limited to:
OJT is funded in Cook County by the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. OJT provides businesses up to six months of reimbursement of a new hire’s wages during the training period. OJT is designed to assist employers with the cost of training new hires in the skills required to be productive employees. Reimbursement rates range from 50 – 90%. OJT enables you to train new hires to your businesses’ exact needs. The program is free to participating businesses.
The Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) is an Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) funded intiative. ETIP reimburses companies for strengthening their employees through training, leading to a stronger workforce and a more competitive business. Any work related training may be eligible for 50% reimbursement of total training cost.
This US Department of Labor funded initiative will cover up to 100% of the costs for upskilling incumbent manufacturing workers. Grant funds will cover the cost of training / courses at one of our 12 community college and training center partners to enable employees to advance within their role and/or the company. Territory ranges from Kankakee to Joliet to Des Plaines, all of Chicago, and including Lake and Porter counties in Indiana.
